Volunteers needed!

We Need Your Help!

One of the most important ingredients in a successful running event are the volunteers.  Volunteers make it possible to conduct a safe, well-organized event.  Volunteers will find their task fun and exciting!  At the end of the day, they will feel like they made a valuable contribution to the success of the event.

Contribute

Join in and meet many amazing new people, be proud of your contribution, help us raise money for charity, gain a valuable experience, help people achieve their fitness goals and join us at the finish line to celebrate!

Roles & Tips!

Dress in layers for all weather possibilities. Many volunteer roles will require being outside. Working outside is way more fun when you are dressed appropriately for the weather. That means:

  • Rain jacket and rain pants plus waterproof footwear
  • Comfortable footwear, as you will probably be on your feet a lot of the day
  • Layers that you can put on or take off depending on temperature
  • Wear sunscreen, as you never know what the weather will bring
  • Bring any maps or documents that were given to you during the volunteer orientation
  • Cell phone, so your volunteer captain can reach you if needed
  • Whistle (may be appropriate in some areas)
  • Lawn chair, make yourself comfortable for a day outside!

Please Bring Your Own Food and Water

Always come prepared to events with a full water bottle and some basic snack items for yourself. Events will provide snacks and refreshments, but sometimes the timing doesn't fit when you may get hungry.

Speak Up

If you are not fully comfortable with a given task or role, please don't hesitate to speak up and ask. Event volunteers have the full obligation to voice their concerns and should ask for clarification when needed. Whether it's the heat, heavy lifting or a disgruntled athlete, please let your Event Captain know so that the situation can be dealt with as soon as possible.

Be Prepared

Arrive on time and read all the materials that have been provided to you before beginning your shift. Arriving fully informed and prepared will add to the enjoyment of your experience.
