COVID–19 Update



The 2020 BlueShore Financial Mother’s Day Run presented by The Westin Bayshore to be held on Sunday, May 10th has been cancelled due to increased COVID-19 concerns and the recent directive from the British Columbia Provincial Health Officer to ban all public gatherings that exceed 50 people. 

The safety of the participants, volunteers, staff, suppliers, spectators, stakeholders and general public is of the utmost importance to us. We hope you will understand this difficult decision and appreciate the guidelines and cancellation policies we have developed to make the best of a bad situation.

We hope you will still be active on Mother’s Day and go out for a walk or run in the spirit of fun, fitness and family (if permitted by local authorities). Please share some of your Mother’s Day activity photos on social media – there will be prizes involved! #runmomrunvan (we will send you more on that soon).

Here are answers to some questions you may have right now:

Will the Race be Rescheduled this year?

No. Due to the nature of the event being focused on Mother’s Day, and the logistical challenges of postponing the entire event, this is not feasible. We also can not predict when it will be deemed safe to hold a large scale public event.

What is the Refund Policy?

The event is unable to offer refunds. Traditionally, race registrations are non-refundable as per standard race polices. When you registered, you also acknowledged and agreed: “The Event may be cancelled if circumstances beyond reasonable control arise. No refunds will be issued in the aforementioned scenarios.” We apologize for this but the majority of registration funds have already been spent on producing the event in the months prior on operations and advance purchases (such as shirts, scarves, rentals, staff, communications, advertising, etc).

Do I get the Official Technical Shirt?

Yes! We will make the official technical race shirts available for you to pick up. If you live outside of the Lower Mainland, there may be a charge associated with shipping you the shirt.

Do the Mom’s still receive the Custom Commemorative Scarf?

Yes! All Mom’s will still receive their beautiful custom commemorative scarf.

Can I defer my Entry to Next Year?

No. The costs associated with your registration have already been incurred and they cannot be transferred to next year’s event. Providing free transfers would mean that the event would incur twice the cost for a single entry fee. A program may be introduced to provide an incentive for next year’s event for those participants that were not able to participate in 2020. We will contact you if this program is introduced.

I purchased Brunch – do I get refunded?

Yes. We will send everyone who purchased a brunch ticket a full refund.

I purchase a Retail Item – will I still receive this?

Yes. Your retail item, if you have not already received it, will be sent to you shortly.

I made a donation to Make A Wish – do they still receive this?

Yes. All donations made to Make A Wish BC and Yukon have been forwarded directly to them. Thank you for your donation!

COVID–19 Update

We are hopeful with the BlueShore Mother’s Day Run still 2 months away, the event will remain unaffected. The Province of BC government has directed that all current public gatherings of more than 250 people be cancelled or postponed which has affected many March and April events.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will follow the recommendations of public health agencies and governmental authorities.

We are devising options if the event was not to proceed as planned. Please check back here for updates.
